Domestic Goddess "R" Us

Good afternoon everyone! I've not only been in a contemplative mood lately but I've really been into the "domestic goddess" role as well. Since Saturday, I've been crocheting , reading and cooking!!!!

I've made cookies this week. Today I made Beignets (picture above) and an apple pie for my beloved. This evening I'll make pork chops and more than likely some type of "bread" and try to get done the rug that I'm crocheting for the bathroom. Tomorrow afternoon I'll probably make an apron because when I cook I have a tendency to get everything all over me (flour, etc) and then I have to go change clothes. LOL I have heard an old saying that says something along the lines of "a messy cook is an excellent cook". Well, if that's true than I must be one darn good cook!!!!

I've started reading "Hereditary Witchcraft" by Raven Grimassi. I have been interested in Italian witchcraft or Stregheria for a long time. I have always loved Italian food and fell in love with the country while watching the travel channel on that region. I have a book and cd to learn how to speak Italian and I really need to get it out and start listening:)

Well, that's all for now.......I think I'm gonna take a bubble bath and relax before I cook dinner.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and my love to all!

Lookee what I did!

I added a widget for my ebay auctions!!!! LOL I was soooo excited and it was very simple to do!!! I also have it listed on my myspace page as well. It's free and brings more traffic to your auctions! Woooohoooo! Always love a freebie!

Hmmmmm.............now to make a banner to link my myspace page, this blog and my store. LOL

I hope everyone is having a great week!

Comtemplating.......

Here is a picture of my "kids" at Fire Mountain before they went to homecoming. From left to right: Debbi (Jeremy's girlfriend but I call one of my kids because she's at my house more than she is at home LOL), my middle son Jeremy, and my oldest Jay (real name Jonathan). I look at this picture and think of the past. Gosh, kids grow up so fast. I honestly have to say I'm very proud of how my children are turning out. They are family dependent instead of peer dependent, they are free thinkers, instead of conforming and most importantly they are open minded and non-judgemental. I have always raised my kids to follow their heart and that they are the master of their own destiny! I am here just as a guide. I think for the most part I have been an ok guide, of course looking back there are things that I should have been better at and stuff I should have done. But, that is the past and it cannot be changed:)
Oh, did I mention, they are very outspoken? LOL Each one of them will stand up for what they believe in, speak out against what they feel is wrong and feel the need to protect those at a disadvantage. Each one of them has taught me so much, which if you stop and think about it makes sense.......for they are each very old souls:)
Today, I am comtemplating what kind of world will they be adults in and what the world will be like when they raise their own children. As I look at each of them, I can see the future clearly. The world will be so much better because these young adults WILL be there to lead.
Will they change the world? You bet. Oh, they may not be the one to find a cure for cancer or win the noble peace prize but with their quiet strength they will show others how to live.
Some say that I should be so proud and that Jon and I did an awesome job raising them. I beg to differ. I mean, I am proud of them BUT I can't fully take credit for how they turned out. After all, I'm here just as a guide..........
